These activities generate heat, sparks, or flames, often in environments with flammable materials or vapors. This course provides the knowledge and procedures needed to conduct hot work safely, prevent incidents, and comply with regulatory requirements.

- Understand what constitutes hot work and why it’s high risk
- Follow the Hot Work Permit system and related documentation
- Identify combustible materials and eliminate ignition sources
- Set up fire watches and use fire-fighting equipment correctly
- Apply controls such as ventilation, shields, and fire blankets
- Select and wear flame-resistant PPE and eye protection
- Recognize responsibilities of Welders, Supervisors, and Observers
