Working at Height

Tasks performed at height carry a high risk of severe injury or death. Whether on roofs, scaffolds, or elevated platforms, this course teaches participants how to identify fall hazards and apply safe systems of work — including fall protection equipment and emergency planning.

  • Recognize situations that constitute work at height 
  • Apply the hierarchy of controls for fall risk reduction 
  • Select and inspect harnesses, anchor points, and lifelines 
  • Calculate fall clearance and use fall arrest systems properly 
  • Develop rescue plans and prepare for emergency response 
  • Follow site-specific work at height procedures and permits 
  • Understand roles of Boom Lift Operators, Supervisors, and Inspectors
