Fall Protection

Falls from height remain the leading cause of fatalities in construction. Many of these incidents occur due to improper use of fall protection equipment or lack of planning. This course builds the competence needed to recognize fall hazards, select appropriate controls, and prevent serious injury or death. 

  • Identify work-at-height scenarios and related risks 
  • Apply the hierarchy of fall protection (elimination to PPE) 
  • Select and inspect harnesses, lanyards, anchor points, and lifelines 
  • Calculate fall clearance and swing fall distance 
  • Understand fall rescue planning and response requirements 
  • Conduct pre-use inspections and proper equipment fitting 
  • Follow site-specific fall protection plans and permit systems
